Westfield Road Beaconsfield
The client’s existing 1920’s house had several drawbacks . The kitchen was cramped and could not conducive to family life. The dining room was small and dark and positioned in the middle of the house plan. The large family room positioned at the rear of the house had only a limited link to the fine rear garden. Upstairs the relationship between the the bedrooms and bathrooms was uneven, requiring replanning. The clients requested that any new designs to the house be in a manner respectful of the existing house. We suggested a new position for the kitchen facing the garden, with a new breakfast room at one end to greet the morning sun. We suggested a new family room in ‘New England’ painted timber boarding to introduce a distinct character to the garden elevation , with large french windows and doors linking the room directly to the garden. A new dining room was brought forward into the new construction to enjoy a link to the garden. All spaces enjoyed new large roof lights to maximise daylight. Upstairs ,new bedrooms with ensuite plus a new master bedroom en-suite with dressing area were also added.
